"SNIP..........
What a strange journey its been for Oliver Anthony, the former factory worker who suddenly found himself atop the Billboard Hot 100 after his breakout Rich Men North of Richmond was boosted online by right-wing media and prominent conservatives.
After first facing backlash over his folksy country ballads reactionary lyrics conjuring up Reagan-era imagery of welfare queens, and launching an entire news cycle around the songs overnight success, Anthony now finds himself in the crosshairs of the extreme right.
Why? Because he had the audacity to tout diversity. In other words: Anthony is now experiencing a reverse milkshake duck.
This isnt quite as simple, however, as the shift of criticism from left to right following Anthonys latest comments. This recent uproar over the singers self-described centrist politics features alt-right trolls and unapologetically racist commentators taking aim at establishment conservatives for supposedly pushing a conservafraud to peddle ethonocide narratives from the Jewish elite.
.........SNIP"

White Nationalist/White Spremacists are now feigning some sick kind of "morality" with their hate and deciding for the MAGAs what is acceptable. That is the real story here.

(17,802 posts)The reason this song became a "hit" in the first place is because a rw pac decided to spend a boatload of money buying up digital sales to make it #1. It only takes a 200-300k investment to buy a #1 song. It doesn't surprise me in the least that they'd turn on him if he isn't dancing to their tune to perfection.

(54,852 posts)Viral sensation and country music star Oliver Anthony has been found by Newsweek to be promoting videos about 9/11 which have been described by a group that combats antisemitism as dangerous conspiracy theories.
The previously unknown singer became an overnight sensation when his single "Rich Men of Richmond" went viral in early August.
In a matter of days the video received more than 14 million views on YouTube thanks to the endorsement of popular podcaster Joe Rogan, who shared the video on his X, formerly Twitter, account.
Anthony, a former factory worker from Farmville, Virginia, now holds five songs in the top 12 of the iTunes song chart.

When your Jew-hating just isn't sufficient.
I hope this serves as a reminder that anti-Semitism is real, Jews are a minority, and that bigots come in all "flavors".
