Russia Transports New Span to Repair the Crimean Bridge

Apparently the damage to the rail bridge from the fire was as serious as we all said it was and while they sent one slow train over it after they replaced the rails, few other engineers were willing to make the trip. AP had raw video of trucks waiting for the Kerch ferry, so it appears the bridge has been down for some time and Russia hasn't admitted it.

Anyway, I thought this was interesting. Likely they've had to replace 2 spans and this was the first, the video is 3 months old. I share the voice over's concern that corners might have been cut to rush these things into place.

Hope there is no "smoking" during the attempted repairs.... wcmagumba Mar 2023 #1

of HIMARS, their Neptune antiship rockets, and those submarine drones. I still think that thing was blown up by a couple of mines that were adrift, the explosion happened under the road deck, which was not scorched or cratered, just lifted up off the supports and dumped into the water. It was just Russia's dumb luck to have a fuel train stopped at that signal when it happened.

Ukraine has gotten some longer range arms recently, but I'm sure they'll wait until repairs are complete to try to take it out.

Ukraine has never claimed responsibility for the original blast. Plus, Russia can't even do sea mines right:

I've never had to move a railroad bridge span so I didn't know, either.
