As usual, there just aren't enough ROFLs in the universe.
This guy plans to re-create Charles Darwin's trip to the Galapagos. To prove Darwin got it all wrong.
Plan of Attack: My belief is evolution exists in individual self-sustaining circles. By proposing this theory, with evidence from Darwins research we change the evolution flow chart from an all-inclusive chart to a multiple circles of self-sustaning life. By doing this the process of elimination will suggest the origin of each circle was conceived by intelligent design.
The e-beggar claims he will soon be getting his "Mater's degree." That may be a typo. Or it might mean he's receiving his degree in his mother's basement...

(49,533 posts)I'd love to visit the Galapagos Islands. What better way to do it than to find a bunch of suckers to pay for your trip?

(9,356 posts)So we must be equally evil.
I just cruised around the internet searching on "crowdsourcing mission trips," which often seems to be the same scam: "Hey, Total Stranger, how about paying for my vacation?"
No way. Though I might donate to send Creflo Dollar or Benny Hinn to Afghanistan or northern Syria. Where they can walk around and ask the locals about their relationship with Christ The One Real Savior.
Some churches have given in completely and now advertise these things as VACATION Mission Trips.
I still LMAO at my Mom's former preacher. He actually wanted the church to give him an all-expenses-paid "mission trip" to convert the hordes of unwashed heathens in...London. The one in the UK.

(6,604 posts)"Actually I only pledged a dollar so I could leave a comment and tell you how idiotic I think you and this kickstarter project is. I know you will never raise your goal, so I am not worried about my dollar. For one thing, maggots do not "evolve" into flies. Lacking a basic knowledge of how evolution actually works is not a good place to start in your effort to disprove it. Also, you might bone up on how the scientific method is supposed to operate. Rule #1 is that you don't set out to prove a personal believe. You look at existing scientific evidence and create a hypothesis which you then test without any bias whatsoever. That's how you get at the truth.
Finally, I really think you're writing skills are outing you as uneducated, given all the spelling and grammatical errors your project summary is peppered with. Even the most stupid entrepreneurs have the sense to borrow an educated mind to do some editing for them.
I'm intrigued to see how this all pans out for you. Perhaps at the very least, you'll gain a better understanding of the amazing and wonderful process of evolution through natural selection that Charles Darwin discovered, partly through his observations while on the Beagle in the Galapagos. If you go there, please don't litter."

(18,219 posts)Darwin went into this study looking for proof of God's existence too. He was a believer and tried very hard to find what he was looking for. Thankfully, he kept an open mind, and when it was apparent that life forms were evolving to adapt to their particular environment, he reported that.
I have a feeling that this guy will not keep an open mind....he already knows what he is going to find, somehow.

(34,836 posts)because I am very sure that no scientist has visited the Galapagos since Darwin. Nor have any done any further studies on evolution around the Globe.

(16,455 posts)You have to prove that your theory fits the data with a very high likelyhood. Disproving another theory says nothing about your theory.
Why are the ID-guys so obsessed with evolution? It's downright creepy!
Can't they just focus on testing ID itself?

(16,455 posts)- It's "master" not "mater".
- The transformation from maggot to fly is a metamorphosis, not evolution.
- A populist is a single person. He means populus, latin for population.
- "I believe the populist has accepted the idea of evolution due to the lack of evidence of the contrary." AKA the scientific method.
- It's "doctoral", not "doctorial".
- "By following the steps and research of Darwin my researchers and I can detail the evidence and experiments that Darwin used for his Theory of Evolution." Except that there is shit-tons and decades of additional research beyond that and your documentary would not disprove those.
What kind of professor would even accept this waste of time as a doctoral thesis?
- "By following in Darwins footsteps, I hope to prove..." Oh, good. He starts his research with a foregone conclusion.
- It's "religion", not "region".
- "I just believe there has got to be a better answer than all in compassing evolution."
1. Define "better".
2. An "an" is missing.
3. It's "encompassing", not "in compassing".
- Wouldn't it be way easier to analyze archeological evidence and fossils to find these evolutionary loops? Measuring the beaks of some birds on an isolated island won't cut it.
- If he's interested in biology, why didn't he study biology?
Why can't he double-check his proposal for typos?
Why isn't he familiar with the concept of scientific proof? As an academic he should be.
Which professor is so stupid to accept this destined-to-fail mess as a thesis?
How much of this money will go into bribing a professor into accepting a bird-documentary as a thesis on evolution?

(5 posts)The fact that people like that still exist is almost hilarious in itself, lolll. Whoever still believes in God these days is stuck in the last century. Frankly I'm glad these dinos are going extinct, the only role religion has ever had on humanity was to keep us primitive with universal morals.
