(27,277 posts)We do have everything to live for.
I don't get #5.. will think about it all day. I'm sure it'll hit me eventually.

(17,505 posts)But # 1 is just Stephen Robert's great quote... less succinct:
"I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours"

(18,219 posts)All these memes are Ricky Gervais, which means that we can't just pick our favorite atheist! No matter, I will find one to vote for. But it will not be easy.

(4,033 posts)...there have been weeks where, while I'm selecting the images, I think to myself "these are weak " or "not a great set " but when I post the set they get a ton of votes & discussion . Then there are other weeks where I am really happy with the selected set of images but when I post them they get few comments and few votes .
So, thanks for all the positive feed back (you are more than welcome) and I will continue on as best I can for as long as everyone is generally happy with the exercise.

(4,033 posts)..."whipping", I prefer "beating".
I am more familiar with the phrase referring to beating the depicted object vs whipping said object.
One does not "whip a carpet", one ....(inaudible for politeness)
Plus the allusion, that is conveyed by the multiple uses of the verb "beat" (i.e. to strike vs triumph over) is apropos.

(7,886 posts)I like it cause it's so common to talk about, say, a church and suddenly you're forced to say over and over that you don't hate Christians. So annoying, like can we stay on topic?
