Zombie Jesus Nativity Scene Will Stay Up Despite Complaints

Zombie Jesus Nativity Scene Will Stay Up Despite Complaints
December 8, 2015 by Michael Stone

Despite complaints from conservative Christians, a zombie nativity scene featuring a baby zombie Jesus will stay up in a small town in Ohio.

Previously, Ohio homeowner Jasen Dixon was ordered to remove a nativity scene in front of his house that features zombies instead of traditional biblical characters or face a daily fine of $500.

Particularly offensive for some conservative Christians, the nativity features a zombie baby Jesus instead of the traditional baby Jesus in the manger.

One concerned individual was handing out pamphlets at the manger declaring “GOD FROWNS UPON THIS MANGER SCENE,” according to a photo Dixon posted on Facebook.

But after a large public outcry in support of the zombie nativity and Dixon removing the roof from the structure housing the display, city officials have relented and now say zombie baby Jesus can stay through the holiday season, according to a report issued by CNN.

Last December, Dixon experienced a similar problem after he was ordered to take down his front-yard zombie nativity scene featuring an undead baby, three ghoulish kings, and a severed head — all under a glowing pentagram.

Despite last year’s court order from Sycamore Township, Dixon had the last laugh. The order stated that the horror-themed nativity scene had to be off his lawn by Dec. 26, which meant zombie baby Jesus got to stay for the big day.

While I agree that both Christianity and Islam are superstitions which both can incite violence from believers, I argued that the threshold of violent reaction is lower for Islam.

Draw Muhamad (Danish, Charlie, Texas) -> people with guns

Zombie Jesus -> I 'pray' I'm right, but probably no guns.

I was comparing mockery vs mockery: zombie Jesus vs Danish cartoons

It's true more 'serious' 'offenses' like blasphemy or abortion will send all religious freaks nuts.

I'm overcome with a profound sense of reverence and awe, nearly weeping with the rapturous joy these scenes inspire.

would raise holy hell if someone suggested taxpayer money shouldn't pay for nativity scenes on public land. Of course, they will never see the irony.
