and this sort of glurge is why. It manages to be both bigoted and soppy, typical stuff from a theist.

Sometimes they're so ridiculous, that they're an insult to the intelligence. But then what do you expect from people who believe in fantasy?

about a dumbass acquaintance who said "god might live on another planet" in the lounge. Holynoodles, was I naive then, making assumptions about peoples' intelligence! I didn't expect to be attacked by fools.

I like some of the music posts I occasionally find in there but other than that, I stay out.

Well, you'll notice little miss know-it-all never explains why the shit is different. Nor does she seem to know that deer, horses and cows actually don't just all eat the same thing. Maybe a biology class is in order....

Seriously.... all atheist/ religious rhetoric aside.... it's just an ill thought-out lousy sophomoric joke, I can't believe anyone finds it cute.

With the punch line - literally - where the Marine/SEAL beats up the mean old atheist professor. While burbling, "GAWD was busy protecting my buddies. So he sent me to kick your ass." (Which brings up a lot of problems with an omnipotent Deity being unable to multi-task etc. But I digress, as usual.)

Since I actually was in the Marine Corps, that story missed a few things that would have certainly happened after the atheist ass-beating:

--Marine/SEAL is thrown in the brig and charged under Article 128 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice, Assault. Since the prof got an epic beating, charges would almost certainly include a greater offense, assault and battery.

--Marine/SEAL is court-martialed and found guilty, since the beatdown occurred in a classroom full of witnesses. Punishment can include reduction in rank, forfeiture of pay and allowances, time in a military prison and a bad discharge. Or all of the above.

--Marine/SEAL is finally released from Leavenworth. Gets hired by Focus on the Family/Fox News as a religion expert.
