(24,804 posts)I used to drink the leftover wine after mass. Trust me, it was not the blood of Christ. It was still Mateus wine.

(836 posts)But I didn't want to act like I was only doing it for the heart so now that you are out of hearts -
We celebrated Christmas and Passover and Chanukah and Easter and New Years and 4th of July and Labor Day, and Halloween and, well, my parents liked to celebrate with company. The more the merrier. We colored Easter eggs and had a big Christmas tree with lots of presents and a full bore Passover Seder (usually at one of the aunts houses) and ate jelly doughnuts at grandmas house for Chanukah and for all that religion did not lay a heavy hand on my upbringing. I was never pressured to choose any particular religion or any belief system at all. I was well into my adulthood before I even found out my mother had been Catholic. I am completely content to be utterly responsible for my own morality and sense of right and wrong, and not be answerable to a diety.
