Will Trump regime be the best seller of atheism?

Trump and his religious supporters may not realize it but they may turn out to be giving the best boost atheism ever received. His regime reveals like none other the true goals of religion which to the present atheist have always been its dictatorship, creulty, vindictiveness, ignorance and poverty. Mr. Trump's actions and associates prove better than any logical discourse just how much his religious backers hate freedom and democracy and are prepared to turn our country into a theocratic dictatorship.

2. Something I wonder about all the time is the current movement to 'none' for religion

I think Trump is only a continuation of the move away from organized religions as those religions cuddle up tighter and tighter with the republican party. In the past 2 decades the facade of having mutual interests has been exposed over and over and over.

Religions desire for power and money has been exposed by their openly figuratively fornicating with the easily discernible politicians like Gingrich, Hastert, McConnell, many lesser clowns plus the likes of the entire Bush family, Cruz, Huckabee, Bachmann, Pence on and on.

Trump is just the most ostensible hypocrite of the batch. With the internet around to easily find and highlight the selling of the souls on one side for power and money and the hypocrisy on the other it is easy for people to see they are being taken for a ride by oligarchs that are laughing at them.

The internet has also allowed for open discussion and meeting with others who have doubts. Also aids in finding out that a person is not the only one with doubts.

So I would say the hypocrisy raises a stink that folks investigate on the internet to find out they are not alone and leaving religion is not the end of their world.

3. Trump not the real problem: it is the religions that are supporting him

Yes I think so. Trump is not the real problem. He's just a creative and vindictively sadistic puppet. The real problems are the religions that are forcing their followers to support him. Yes, Fundamental Protestantism and right wing Catholicism, these are the real culprits. Both hate democracy and have been trying to undermine ours for a very long time. They are finally succeeding. (this post was blocked from the Catholic thread)

4. I agree fundamentalism is the issue but I don't think they're forcing their followers to support him.

I occasionally watch a local Southern Baptist preacher rant and rave at his flock on Sunday morning (his program comes on after Face the Nation) and these people are completely brainwashed. They need someone to tell them what to think and believe and he's more than willing to fill their heads full of lies and intolerance about minorities, lgbt people and non-Christians. I can totally see why Jimmy Carter told the Southern Baptists to get bent years ago (believe it or not they still hate him). Although I have noticed that there are very few young people who attend so that's a good sign.
