what about judge not, lest you be judged. Cast out the mote in your own eye before that of others, or some such.

Weren't some of those for hygiene purposes?
I don't focus on the Old Testament much. I prefer the uplifting words of Jesus, the Sermon on the Mount.

I often question Christians that quote the OT. I just have to ask them about Jesus's words on the subject and invite them to buy a Red Letter Bible and focus on the words in red if you wish to be called a Christian.

I remember ours had red and black. Everything in red was Jebus's words.

What were the blue green and orange letters?

but red was Jesus, I think green was apostles, orange was... hell I don’t know.. but I think blue was prophesy. Black letters were the insignificant parts I suppose. Nothing like bull shit in Technicolor.

My grandpa said that. I asked him what it meant once, and he said "nothing, really, but it sounds like something in the bible, doesn't it?"

He liked messing with people like that. He was sort of a cross between Gandalf and Mr. Greenjeans. [Sigh]

If you interpret it to be saying something like not trusting charity from crooks.
