There was some Scandinavian author that was killed for depicting Mohamed too, I believe. It's a big no-no.

Although, I guess Book of Mormon doesn't actually depict Joseph Smith, there's probably some murder-able offense in Islam for making fun of the religion.

Joke: So, this mullah was walking down the street and turned into a bar. A little djinn will do that to ya.

we're a long, long way from that. But just btw, I know of three, count 'em 3, ex-mormons who began their deconversion experience after seeing the play.

Islam, so far, however, doesn't do satire, sarcasm, or even humor. And that, I think, is telling.

The Book of Mormon is hilarious. Many Mormons have reported that they enjoyed it because they recognized in their faith much of what is presented in a slightly exaggerated way in the musical. So we're laughing with Mormons, not at them. I'm not sure lampooning The Quran would be a good idea at this point in history. The Muslim world has suffered too many historical indignities at the hands of European and North American countries.

Just my personal opinion, but the Muslim world hasn't suffered NEARLY the indignities it's due.

rewarded with a double-cross when they renigged on their promise to grant them independence? Or like when the US organized and paid for a coup against the democratically elected Prime Minister of Iran and installed the Shah instead? Or when the UN gave land that belonged to the Palestinians to the Jews for a homeland?

I didn't send it in to be published, though, I just typed it for practice. My typing is improving at a rapid rate due to my intensive practice typing major pieces of literature, investigative journalism, and the occasional essay. Someday I will get the courage to publish a piece of my writing, but I need time. Meanwhile, I'll practice my typing.
