Related: About this forumFacebook is a cesspool today......!
Most of my facebook friends are right-wing Xtians celebrating Easter, and FB is absolutely a stew of relig bullsh&it. I'm staying off of it for the rest of the day. Advise you guys do same, if you're in same boat. Had to come over here for my sanity. But still have to appease certain family members, go to church and endure the same bullsh&it.
I really want to flee to Paraguay and fight extradition for this "holiday". Kinda miserable in my world today. Anybody else?

(21,957 posts)last year when a change in my profession requires me to check in with ALL of my clients via FB. It sucks, but it helps me keep a roof over my head.

(38,958 posts)A few April Fools Jokes and postings. Some Happy Easters and lots of good information from groups in which I am interested. I would suggest that it is not so much Facebook, but rather the company that you have chosen to keep.

(38,958 posts)dump it and not worry about what others think or believe that you should do. If the service is something you do not find benefit in, then there is nothing to be gained by continuing to use it.

(21,646 posts)wondering mindless . I still like Zombie day, but it's not an accurate description of the myth
Not to be confused with lichen.
In fantasy fiction, a lich (/ˈlɪtʃ/;[1] from Old English 'līċ' meaning 'corpse') is a type of undead creature. Often such a creature is the result of a transformation, as a powerful magician skilled in necromancy or a king striving for eternal life using spells or rituals to bind his intellect and soul to his phylactery and thereby achieving a form of immortality.
Liches are depicted as being clearly cadaverous, bodies desiccated or completely skeletal.
Liches are often depicted as holding power over hordes of lesser undead creatures, using them as soldiers and servants.
Unlike zombies, which are often depicted as mindless, a lich retains independent thought and is usually at least as intelligent as it was prior to its transformation.

(2,107 posts)There are varying versions.
Basically, the Romani believe that they were given the right to steal from heaven because a "Gypsy" child stole a golden nail that the Scribes and Pharisees planned to drive into Jesus' heart at the crucifixion.
The enemies of Jesus came to believe (maybe from Romani) that no binding spell of man, witch, demon or djinn would keep Jesus from resurrecting -- only an object he had "cursed" himself. So, Jesus' enemies tricked him into cursing the gold of the money changers at the temple. Then, they used the gold from the coins to make a fourth soul-killing spike. A Romani child became aware of the nail -- in a dream or some other way -- and stole it. In gratitude, God granted her people the right to steal with impunity once a year.
The whole thing sounds like a "Gypsie" scam to get gold out of the pharisees to me.
I'd love to see this made into a movie with the same bunch as "Oceans 11." "Oceans - year 30" maybe? That would be fantastic.

(26,727 posts)I see no point in keeping FB "friends" who post crap.
I also don't accept friend requests from someone if I have no idea who they are, even if we have several mutual friends in common.

(6,510 posts)It's a very happy day for millions of people. Even if you don't believe in it, I enjoy seeing people celebrate and be happy at a time when it seems like there's very little happiness in the world.
