As I worked on getting my wife a tombstone, I went to the VA. She was a retired disabled Vet...like me. They offer that symbol for placement on the tombstone and describe it as the atheist symbol.

Because it is colorless, odorless, tasteless, virtually undetectable, and can be used to prove the earth is more than 6,000 years old, yet it is infinitely noble.
