Hikers like the tall part.
This is the slow season (Labor Day to Memorial Day) but most weekends require reservations at nps.gov, to keep congestion down.

I'm still looking to visit Taft Point, near Sentinel Dome (which has the "High Sierra" webcam) when the road reopens.
Sentinel Dome has some great sights. Nearby Glacier Point is crowded, but nice. You can hike up there from the valley, but be in damn good shape.

The normal view has El Capitan and Half Dome visible.

Check out the webcams at the Yosemite Conservancy link.

When there are clouds, they just float around Half Dome.

People at the Mariposa Butterfly Festival at the County Fairgrounds today not only got rained on, but power went out in the area for much of the afternoon. I sure hope that the churro and beignet cookers were running on propane tanks.
