(5,685 posts)Huntsville, Alabama - Early in the week, we were to stay dry until today, then Wednesday morning, they forecast rain on Thursday before daylight, and again later in the day as well. I got out in my back yard and worked myself stiff and sore, to get things done ahead of the wet. Then I got up yesterday, to no rain, and no rain in the forecast for the day. About 1:30 I heard thunder, and within minutes it was pouring so hard I couldn't see houses 100 yards away.

(5,685 posts)Tuesday I mowed my ex wife's yard, and was going to rest Wednesday, but then I couldn't trust the weather service to be wrong so I piled Wednesday on top of Tuesday creating my current condition of soreness.
Last week we had heavy wind and maybe a small tornado nearby resulting in a lot of trees down and I was getting some nice maple and oak pieces for next winter's firewood, and I needed it cut to length and stored in my shed to cure. That was what I was doing Wednesday.
I just looked and now they are saying we will get rain from about now until about 2:30. Earlier, it wasn't supposed to start until about 4. I guess we will have to rely on Les Nessman's Eyewitness Weather today.
