I hope you all had a peaceful Thanksgiving. I'm so very sorry I wasn't here for all of you but I

have been quite ill for quite some time and it finally culminated in a 12 day stay in hospital. Not fun. . Long story short I ended up needing surgery to stop some internal bleeding. I received 6 pints of blood (this time, yes this has happened before) and still my hemoglobin would drop below a safe level. I'm home now with nursing care a few times a week. I've had a cath-port implanted in my chest and I continue to receive some meds and nutrients (TPN) through an IV.
Anyway ... I am home, thinking of each and every one of you. Hoping you're well and surrounded by lots of love.

kesha.

Thank you! It's true, hospitals don't afford much rest even in a private room. n/t auntAgonist Dec 2015 #6

I am surprised that you even had the energy to post. My own Thanksgiving was spent on the usual bed rest. My own autoimmune diseases prevent me from walking. Trying to walk is like walking with muscles made of ice cream. Cannot even stand.

kesha, you are much loved by all of us.

I can relate to the autoimmune issues. I have Lupus and along with that a few other 'complaints'.

Thank you for your kind words. I hope and pray that YOUR days get better and that soon you'll be out and about walking. I hope you have someone there with you to help you enjoy your days.

much love.

Hope you can get some good days under your belt soon. Twelve days in the hospital is a lot, and its never over till you get home, in your chair and your bed with your stuff!

the nurses were wonderful though and for most of my stay, a full 10 of those 12 days I was given a private room. They thought I needed the rest and privacy as I was going through so many different tests at all hours. After surgery was most painful and the nursing aftercare was quite intense so the privacy was most welcome.

I hope you're well my friend.

Glad you are back home and on the mend. My husband has had some hospital stays and we have found that it's a lousy place to get any rest. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

I'm frustrated with the IV, always having to remember I'm hooked up and being careful not to walk away leaving it behind heh.
It soon lets me know I've forgotten something. Looks like I have a couple of months of this (or more?) to look forward to.

I hope you're all doing ok this cold and gloomy Saturday.
