Tho not an actual family member,

a good friend of my son-in-law's family passed away early today, due to corona virus.

I never met the gentleman, but he was a family and community stalwart, a great friend, I'm told, likely around 40+ years old, served in some kind of public-safety role in Maryland (south of DC.)

He had been hospitalized for a few days, appeared to do 'well' for a couple of days, and this happened, suddenly.

The family is in shock. I'm home alone, and all I can do is sympathize.

Perhaps one of the most difficult things we will encounter is having to grieve alone.

There will likely be more announcements like this in the coming months on DU.

As a friend of mine said, when this is all over we will ALL know someone who died.
