Second holiday season without Mom

I'm sitting here comparing myself to my Mom. BAD MOVE.

She was the MASTER.

For us, all of the holidays were about the meal. She always found a way, even on a limited budget, to feed an army, and it was always amazing.

We're only feeding 8, and I'm sweating bullets. Trying to get the most out of every ingredient, and do it perfectly.

I don't mind the work of it all, in fact I enjoy it. Except that if she were here she'd do it better. AND we'd have her too.

Hell, I'd be happy to serve spam sandwiches to have her back.

Cut yourself some slack. Your mom is with you, watching you, guiding you and cheering you on. It's not the same, I know, but she *is* there.

I'm holding you close in my heart, MissMillie. Know that you are enough. Please be well.
