Bereavement
Related: About this forumMy husband would be 77 today
He's been gone 7 years.
To mark the anniversaries of his birthday and death, the kids and I share pictures. I've thinking about the downside of aging, and while I miss him terribly, I am glad he isn't enduring the aches and pains, the slide down the hill to old age. After looking at pictures this morning, I was curious about what he might look like after all these years. I found a free ai site with an aging filter, and used a picture of my dear husband, younger and vigorous. There is a slide bar, and I moved it to 77. Then I laughed. It wasn't how I picture him, too many wrinkles. I think he would laugh too.
I tried a picture of myself, and slid the bar to 71. I don't look like that. I look older, but have few wrinkles. I think the ai program I picked relies too much on adding wrinkles to age the picture. Talk about stereotyping or ageism! None of my relatives who lived past 80 wrinkled like prunes, just very light marks of age. People in my husband's family didn't wrinkle like that either.
My coffee is gone, the morning has passed. I enjoyed a leisurely trip down memory lane. Love doesn't die
