"Citta" - The Mind's Essential Knowing Nature - Ajahn Maha Boowa - Thai Forest Theravada Buddhism

A reading of selected excerpts of Ajahn Maha Boowa's teaching on the nature of the citta.
Ajahn Maha Boowa (or Bua) (12 August 1913 – 30 January 2011) was a Thai Buddhist monk. He was thought by many of his followers to be an Arahant (someone who has attained Enlightenment). He was a disciple of the esteemed forest master Ajahn Mun Bhuridatta, and was himself considered a master in the Thai Forest Tradition. Following the death of Ajahn Thate in 1994, he was considered to be the Ajahn Yai (or head monk) of the Thai Forest Tradition lineage until his death in 2011.

I came here to see if anyone had posted it. I'm not done with it yet, there is a lot there. You're way ahead of me.

This one struck me because i had read a short Korean Buddhist essay on self reflection, which I think I understood, which was quite similar to this video presentation. I tried to translate some Buddhist idioms that followed.

Mind of a stone, heart of a tree

본래무일물 ( 本來無一物 )의 뜻이 무엇입니까? What is the meaning of original nothingness?
돌멩이가 마음이고, 나무가 마음이다. It's the mind of a stone, the mind of a tree.

주객 ( 主客 )이 없다는 말은 무슨 뜻입니까? What does it mean, when the subject-object relation is gone?
돌멩이가 마음이고, 나무가 마음이다. It's the mind of a stone, the mind of a tree

색즉시공 ( 色卽是空 )의 뜻은 무엇입니까? Appearances are emptiness, what does it mean?
돌멩이가 마음이고, 나무가 마음이다. It's the mind of a stone, the mind of a tree

만법유식 ( 萬法唯識 )의 뜻이 무엇입니까? What is the meaning of universal consciousness?
돌멩이가 마음이고, 나무가 마음이다. It's the mind of a stone, the mind of a tree
