Many of us lived during those times. The main thing that stuck out is that it was "on paper" a civil war, north versus south, though no doubt driven by outside forces.

It struck me every time the women said "we" because of the division at the time in the country, but I am glad that they are beyond that.

They see one Vietnam.

I was interested in their reaction to the scenes, harshness and horror of war, the military boot camp training, and military operations that they never saw.

They compared war to video games.

War didn't end with Vietnam.

Science fiction writers have it right. We grow out of division and war or we don't survive globally.
