Vagabond (Kdrama)

Vagabond | Official Trailer | Netflix

Pretty good action drama, political thriller in South Korea beginning with an airliner terrorist incident. English subtitles. The protagonist is a stunt man, who lost his nephew in the aircraft tragedy. Some exciting action sequences. Implausible twists and turns. Cynical politicians, aerospace lobbyists scheming for next fighter aircraft project, bad intelligence officials, etc. Someone told me it was like the Bourne Identity movies. It's not quite that slick but diverting entertainment. High production values for a drama. The on scene location in Tangier captured my interest from the first episode. It's still up on netflix.

Chief of Staff is a better drama about South Korean national politics more realistic, believable, etc.

We loved it even though we were in tears for the last 5 episodes.

You might also like Noku Flower and Different Dreams, other period pieces one before and one after Mr. Sunshine, in terms of their time historically. Unfortunately, I don't think Netflix USA is carrying either one currently.

Did you ever see Empress Ki or Queen Seondeok? These are great dramatic presentations from the dynastic periods. Also, another spectacular series is Six Flying Dragons about the foundation of the Chosun Dynasty. I think these are on Viki.com but there is a paywall. These are my top 5 historical Kdrama picks. Sometimes one or more of these episodes can be seen on youtube.
