One must wonder why the republican party is filing suits to stop the recounts.

Why would they care if they thought their candidate legitimately won?

What the heck did they put on their petition to the court to stop the recount anyway?

They're trying to hide the truth that they rigged the election for the Tangerine Tyrant and his minions in the Senate by bribing the state election officials.

The legal situation is that any "change" is bad and unknowns are bad. The recount is an "unknown" so they want to stop it and enforce the status quo.

I don't blame them for trying to stop it. But I do blame them when they work the law unfairly to their favor which they do essentially always.

If they find little or no evidence of voter fraud, it makes the GOP and Trump look like liars. They've been screaming "voter fraud" for decades.

If they find little or no evidence of election fraud (Trump's claim of "three million illegal votes&quot , it makes the GOP and Trump look like liars.

If they *do* find evidence of election fraud, but it's of the GOP variety, it makes the GOP and Trump look like liars. And crooks.

The master of projection goes around accusing Hillary and the Democrats of rigging the election in their favor when in fact evidence is abounding that the Tramp camp has been rigging it in his. They don't want Americans to find out the truth, so they're trying to stop the recount to keep us from discovering their crime.

Except what now? They own everything and they don't care how blatant the filth and corruption is. Any of Cheetofuhrer's minions could go out on Fifth Avenue now, shoot someone down and get applause....just like he said...

Think about it. They just want to step on the heads of those of us who are left to rebel.

until January. If voter fraud can be proven then they are even more likely to vote for Clinton. Right now there is such a big push to get them to vote for Clinton because she won the popular vote by so much.

I think in 2000 the cake was baked and they devised ways to fix the elections in their favor. They succeeded in 2004 and thought they could get away with it but too many voted against them in 2006, 2008 and 2012. 2010 they hacked enough votes to win. By 2014 and 2016 they knew how to do it and be undetectable.

If we don't stop them now it us over. No matter how many more of us vote against them they will make up the narrative with the media and fix those machines to their desired outcome.

What happens if recounts are still going on when the safe-harbor period ends on 12/13? Or worse... what if recounts aren't completed by 12/19?

It doesn't mean that Trump doesn't become President... but it might mean that the House has to vote on it - which further taints him.

It's next to impossible to hand-count all of Michigan in the next eight days... probably 12/19 is unlikely.

I would think they would have to make some sort of exception.

Even if they have to stop discrepancies would give the electors more reason to not throw their vote to trump.
