Anyone look into these guys? I just heard a little bit about it. I kind of like the idea of candidates running on a unified progressive theme.

Also, I've thought a lot about running for congress or state government, where I live in a exurb of Indianapolis. We are represented by Todd Rokita, a tea partier. Every year the local Dem, party puts up a hapless candidate who gets crushed.

What are the odds of a progressive winning here, where they reliably vote R year after year?

Sounds like in your district the best bet for the Democrats is a rational progressive candidate with centralist leanings. Based on your discription you are never going to get one of Sander's boys or girls elected where you live.

I suspect you're right about my district, though I think frankly anyone with an R after their name is a shoe-in.

The conclusion of many was that their expectations are detached from reality.

Last I knew, it hadn't gone anywhere from the initial push. If they're going to field 400 candidates next year, they better get moving.

Progressives will never win if we don't run. I don't like hearing about blank Democratic ballot lines anywhere in the country.

When there is a primal scream for change across the land, I hope there are 435 progressives on congressional ballots nationwide, as an available change option for people.

either financially or just within the local Dem party. It would be interesting just to go through a primary process to select the candidate

19. They are looking for money and volunteers...

If you are looking for a way to identify candidates for the midterms, they are looking for volunteers in your area.

My understanding is that it is less Bernie than Bernie supporters.

Both of the people I spoke with were promoting Hillary first, then a new congress. They formed too late in the cycle to front their own candidates into consideration.

We need more opportunities like this to find and energize progressives everywhere. It will lead to more and better democrats running.
