Much more preferable

As ugly as it would be

We would stand a much better chance of surviving it

it will be a civil war among Republicans. The House would choose a Republican alternative, and the Trumpies would go ballistic. The Dems can stay out of it, and chaos will reign for awhile. Then, as usual, a Dem will come in and sweep up.

Until then they are just blowing so much smoke, like so many of the GOP that refused to support Trump. They said one thing then slid on their bellies right on back to that fruitcake.

I wont say much about Hillary and how the election shook out but look what playing patty cake with those bums got her. It got her whacked by Miss Scarlet in the ballroom that's what.

I'd like to believe these guys have a conscience of some sort, but that's like believing you can be friend with a Tiger. At some point that Tiger is gonna go Tiger and your face is going to be lunch.

They'd rather die than cast a vote for the popular vote winner.

at least they're not in bed with Putin like Trump and his team. I can't imagine any of them picking Tillerson to head the state department...

The electors have been selected because they are reliably Republican. The best hope is that they will vote for a more sane Republican. If they do, and Hair Feuhrer gets fewer than 270 EC votes, it will throw the election into the House--which is controlled by Rs. The Rs will vote for Trump because they will all be facing reelection in two years, and don't want to face the torches and pitchforks of the Trump voters.

Even if there were enough Democratic electors who would vote for the sane R choice, i'm not sure the House would have to support that vote. They may be able to overturn it and install Trump anyway. (Again, because of their own future reelections.)

There was a slim hope that the recounts would turn up uncounted votes for Clinton, but once Wisconsin was in and the original outcome was confirmed, I became less hopeful. When the courts stopped the recounts in MI and PA, it was pretty much over.

Trump will be the next President--at least until he does something impeachable.

The thing to do is to put all our efforts into 2018. Retaking the House and Senate should be the priority. It makes impeachment and conviction much more likely, and will give us the chance to block Trump's agenda.

It should go to Clinton because she was in the running and won the popular vote. I can't see them voting for some random Republican who wasn't even in the running. Do you realize what an uproar that would cause? No, the Electors should be voting for Hillary Clinton.

The electors can vote for whoever they want, and if they don't elect Trump, it will surely be some other Republican.

in there would be much, much worse than Trump IMO. What's the point if they won't vote Hillary in place of Trump? The fair vote would be for the electors to vote Hillary in since she won the popular vote for president. I haven't been up on how the process goes, but it sounds completely ridiculous, and severely outdated.

I am not interested in protest votes that do not change the outcome. Voting for anyone else will not make anyone else president-elect.

Apparently, the strong arm tactic isn't working.

Has Trump tried placing a horse heads in each of their beds while they are sleeping?
