There is no way that Trump can be denied the presidency.

President Obama doesn't have the power to change anything. He believes it is his responsiblity to ensure that there aren't riots in the streets and a peaceful transition of power.

It isn't reasonable to expect him to get up on a stage and start breathing fire.

He is going to leave it to others to make the claim that this election was unfair and sabotaged.

There is no way to take away the votes. If people went to the polls and voted for Trump because of wiki leaks and the hacking of the DNC and John Podesta's email, there is no mechanism in place to change things. We aren't going to have a re-election.

I could win the lottery. The latter is much more likely to happen - even though I never buy a ticket.

No, we're stuck with him, for worse or much worse. The only hope is that enough people will provoke him into such a twitter storm that his brain will melt and run out his ears (which is how I feel when I see Fox News).

Unless they voted for Clinton (AND the "Hamilton Electors" backed out and voted for her as well), it would just throw the selection to the House (which would give it to Trump anyway). Even if 37 (or more) did vote for her, many (if not all) of those votes would most likely be blocked at state or federal level.

I would NEVER accept an illegitimate alternative. There is only Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump.

That is it.

It is better to piss off 60 million-plus voters than over 130 MILLION.

Even if Trump gets 270 EVs all it takes is one Represntative and Senator from a couple of big states to challenge their states' votes. If the objections are approved and Trump doesn't get to 270 you know the rest. It's important that some candidate with a realistic chance of winning the vote in the House gets nominated in the College, since the House can only select from the top 3 candidates.

All of this is predicated on the idea that a smoking gun is found between Trump and Russia or something equally nefarious otherwise there's no political incentive for Congress to vote against Trump

The process is clearly laid out and all those hoping and wishing for some other remedy have been indulging in pure fantasy. Obama is President, not king.
(Most sadly is if anyone cares to read posts from November 7, this is exactly what was expected of Republicans when Trump lost)

Unless there is an unprecedented revolt in the Electoral College, the result of November 8 will be confirmed.

The only ones squawking are the ones who hate Hillary Clinton's guts. I loathe these "Hamilton Electors" with every single fiber of my being because they don't give a shit about the voters or about the popular vote winner.

All they give a shit is that a Republican gets in there even if that Republican is totally illegitimate.
