Dear non-voters, Thank you for Trump

Over the years I have met many non-voters. Some are apathetic, some are confused and, frankly, I prefer that they stay out of what they can not or will not understand.

There is one group, however, that has confused and angered me for years. These are the committed non-voters who excuse their abdication of their rights and duties by saying,

"I don't vote because it justifies a corrupt system. If enough people stop voting then the government has no validity."

or something similar.

For years I was baffled by these people. Then it dawned on me. If we were a tiny third world ccountry and this happened, then there would, no doubt, be some larger "benefactor" nation who would take this low participation rate as a sign that the government was corrupt and come to "save" these people from their horrible situation. But who is going to come "save" us? An alien species from Alpha Centauri? We are the strongest, richest country in the history of Earth. NO ONE is coming to "save" us but ourselves.

But wait! Is it possible? Yes! Here comes Putin! Putin will save us from ourselves! He orchestrated hacking our election! Russia to the Rescue.

And now we have Trump. I guess those non-voters had a good plan after all.

They would never vote to the right. They *might* vote Green but their arguments reveal the truth that they don't want to "waste their vote". It's really just an excuse for laziness.

As for right-wingers? Voting is a sacred duty. Not-voting is practically treason.

especially their tin-hat brigades. I know a couple who think it's all a scam and by registering to vote the government will start tracking them and the crazy just snowballs from there.

A more accurate statement would be that non-voting Democrats in the Midwest cost HRC the election. And to some degree, the Clinton campaign is complicit in this failure. I know many disagree, but it seems as though Bill Clinton's advice to focus on the Midwest in the closing weeks of the race were ignored.

It sucks to lose, and it sucks even more to lose a close election in the EC.
