They obviously are very vital and I was especially surprised to learn that EW is 67 (I would have easily placed her 10 years or more younger), but that's a pretty old ticket.

I just don't see it as a balanced ticket. Anyway, Bernie Sanders isn't a Democrat again.

Are warren and Sanders going to come to the rescue and sprinkle magic fairy dust on everything? Do the mayhem and misery fought by the republicans and Trump. What about local and state elections.? Congress...2018. Sometimes the naïveté is simply astounding.

I'll bite.

1) Looking for something hopeful and positive to look forward to. Not mutually exclusive with attention to present electoral politics.

2) Not said but implied if you have intuition is that these are the national leaders of the Dem party NOW, with statuture to head our ticket in 2020. They will lead our opposition on a federal level to trump NOW.

3) We are all essentially on the same side. I choose to try to be nice.

We need fresh faces, younger, with stamina and energy. After Trump, America will have likely soured on Baby Boomer leadership anyways. It's time to pass off the baton to a younger generation.

And this is where losing a thousand seats at the state level is going to bite us in the ass as the GOP fills their ranks with hungry, young lawmakers in their 20s and 30s who are now building the networks and campaign machines they'll use to pursue higher office.

I shudder a little when I hear Schumer talk and make his lame puns. I hope Keith Ellison becomes DNC Chair.

Who do you see as the up and comers in the Dem party?

I hear you, but...do you hear anyone but Bernie challenging our very economic system of capitalism? He successfully rallied millennials around his radical ideologies, specifically, socialism.

Think of Mandela, Gandhi ... it doesn't take youth alone to harness great change.

Age DOES matter, and I say this as someone who is closer to 70 than 60.

pedantic lefties are not the answer.

I do want them to be involved in the national conversation pulling things leftward and shining lights on GOP lunacy (witness Sanders yesterday with Trump's medicare/SS tweet), but they are ill suited to winning a national election.

Besides, Democrats have a tough map in 2018; we need focus and energy on those races or we could be looking at another midterm disaster.
