I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me.

I'm 62 and grew up with Thompson books. One of the best political writers of our times, in my opinion. I got to get used to the concept that most people are younger than I am at this stage of my life!

8. I was in college when he was writing for the Rolling Stone. I ran down to the

bookstore to get that mag every month, just to read the latest shit on Nixon and other outrages. He is, and was, a magnificent writer and a real hero.
