TRUMP: NATO OBSOLETE

But ahead of his inauguration on Friday as the 45th U.S. president, Trump raised the prospect of the first major step towards nuclear arms control since President Barack Obama struck a new Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty with Russia in 2010.

“They have sanctions on Russia - let’s see if we can make some good deals with Russia,” the Republican president-elect was quoted as saying by The Times.

“For one thing, I think nuclear weapons should be way down and reduced very substantially, that’s part of it. But Russia’s hurting very badly right now because of sanctions, but I think something can happen that a lot of people are gonna benefit.”

Of course it makes sense to have better relations with Russia, but the sheer consequences of bending our will over to the Kremlin is scary. This is the country that still bears the scars from the Cold War, and do we really trust someone like Putin to be friendly to US, even with that pompous buffoon in power?

They have sanctions on Russia

Who's this "they" he speaks of as if he is not a part of this country?

as in NATO countries, thus dividing and conquering the NATO signatories. At least, I'd bet his minions will hear it that way.

Dangerous times. Basically we have gangsters lining up their turfs. Trump looks like he is willing to serve up the Baltic States, Ukraine, Belarus, and all of the former Soviet states to Putin, probably in exchange for the paper Putin holds on him.
