An estimated 5,000 demonstrators formed a three-mile (five-kilometer) line in downtown New York Tuesday to protest unemployment in the United States, an event aimed at drawing notice during the "Super Tuesday" primaries.

The marchers carried pink slips, the traditional symbol of job layoffs, as they formed a procession from Wall Street to Union Square along Broadway, a distance of some three miles, or five kilometers, in a 14-minute protest.

"We are forming a single line to represent the 14 million unemployed in America. It's a representation of an unemployment line, the longest unemployment line in the world," said Yana Landowne, one of the organizers.

Known as "The Line," the protest is a repeat of a 2004 event and was organized by artists and activists from unions, theatrical groups, and a variety of other citizen groups including Occupy Wall Street.

And even if it does not look like it, people who see these creative forms of protest will be thinking about what they saw, in various ways.

I doubt the New York or national media covered it.

By the MSM is becoming more and more blatant. Solutions?

P.s. if 5,000 teabaggers showed up for an event, it would dominate CNNs news cycle for a week...

It's like "Crickets" about this in our MSM here. Thanks for the post.

I haven't watched RT in a few days and they probably had it ...but, everything in the US is about the Election and the Repugs.

5,000 is a big crowd....
