A clip from Sam Seder's radio interview with Fran Lebowitz...

This is from 11-17-11, but it's chock-full of wisdom in regard to OWS. I thoroughly enjoyed hearing her perspective; hope you will, too:

/Edited to add link: http://official.fm/tracks/32410

Highlights:

Lebowitz said OWS is different from the '60's movement in that OWS wants "in", while the hippies wanted "out".

She calls the 1%'s position as indefensible, cites Mayor Bloomberg's absence in answering OWS's concerns, & calls Bloomberg a part of the top 10% of the 1%.

Another interesting point she made was that she was shocked when there wasn't a similar outpouring of protests over the Bush v. Gore SCOTUS decision. She feels it may have made a difference.

She talks about how rich people want to "give back"; they can start by not taking away things like public funding for public schools.

The ones who make production happen are barely making ends meet. That's part of the "indefensible" that Lebowitz was talking about.

Thanks again for recommending this audio to me in xchrom's Lebowitz thread, smokey.
