(72,477 posts)Police abuse is bad and should be dealt w/ but right now thousands of men and
and women who are cops are putting their asses on the line to help serve and
protect all of us. Everyday cops, fire fighters and EMTs run to situations that
most people would give everything they have to stay out of.

(11,700 posts)But people will be beaten up by the police. Some for no reason at all. I've watched it happen. Should we not talk about that?
...what is shameful is that large numbers of heavily armed and body armored "civil servants" will be used to illegally harass, injure, and detain young idealists in the course of the legal expression of their' right to protest.

(34,295 posts)and certainly would agree that most fire fighters and EMTs are more concerned about saving lives. I don't think you can be so self-righteous though if you seriously consider how the status quo has reacted to Occupy. There has been way too much senseless violence for my taste.

(34,295 posts)may have been some injuries - doesn't look like anything too serious (obviously not pleasant though and it is embarrassing that our police forces are acting this way)

(53,661 posts)There are peaceful cops and peaceful protestors. The violent of either group don't get hurt and are seldom called to account.
Everytime I read one of these topics I wonder if it is a call to violence. That may not be your intent, but when the focus is on violence, it is on that.
What else is the purpose of the poll, other than to stir up hatred? Is counting the injuries a game, or a call to action?
I'm commenting on this thread, but not going to vote in the poll. Sorry, enjoy your other posts.
