This evening, May 23, 2012, our brave Occupy Oakland comrade and Tactical Action Committee member Christopher Moreland was in a parking lot after (according to multiple witnesses) peacefully attending a protest at a church against OPD's recent murder of an unarmed young Black man. Two cars full of cops came, one cop ordered the others to get Chris, and they arrested him. He did not resist. OPD is inventing numerous baseless charges against him, including at felony battery on an officer. The guards are harassing him as well. Please help us free Chris by contributing to his bail fund! Every little bit helps, and Chris has been there for all of us! He is one of the most powerful speakers and organizers in the entire Occupy movement and we need his energy and courage! He is continually targeted by OPD because he is a young Black man and he is able to get under their skin and be a real political threat. He needs us right now--please donate!

He's being balled out but still has to be transported back to Santa Rita and processed out.

Okay, it looks like the charges were dropped but he is facing a probation violation that will be heard on Tuesday. Classic trying to ensnare this kid in bs and get him violated into doing time. I hate these so called people.
