(1,262 posts)And "doomed" is a pretty accurate descriptor for how I feel some days. I'm educated, motivated, and yet remain unemployable at any level equal to my worth. I fear starting a family because I can barely make ends meet for myself.
Some days I think I'll end up rioting in the streets before I actually find a proper job. Maybe that is what it will take.

(38,893 posts)or failing to stop it before it consumes the entire planet. These are the two paths, the two choices. It is up to us, it is up to action and faith in action. Your generation is here at exactly the right time and I for one have great faith in you.

(1,262 posts)I do my best. I have it far better than some, so I count my blessings. There is just so much uncertainty in what to expect from the next 10-15 years or so--the exact years that will define my future. Will I find work, and live out some variation of the "American Dream?" Or is that a luxury for days past? I'm scared, though admittedly also fascinated by the times we live in and what kind of social/political/economic change we are on the brink of. Things are going to get interesting before they get boring, that is for certain.
