I don’t think there are all that many Iranians who are actually afraid these goons are dead. More likely, a good chunk of the Iranian population is hoping they are dead, but is afraid they aren’t.

Looks like it crashed and burned. A very hot spot surrounded by debris.

It wasn't a soft landing.
