I have the good fortune of having 2 Democratic Senators and a Democratic Congressional representative, all of whom are on-board with my legislative preferences. My question is this: Is it worth the effort to call politicians outside my own political venue or do they ignore anything not from their state/district? They always ask my zip code when I call in so I wonder if calling, for example, Lisa Murkowski's or Mitt Romney's office, has any impact at all or if the call is just trashed? Any thoughts?

(17,615 posts)Ask what zip you are in, and then ask a number of follow questions, like what county is it in, what highways run through it, what the good eateries are, a name of a local, non-national store you go to or know of, etc.
They only are interested in constituent comments. But it can never hurt to clog switchboards......

Another thing-- when we piled into our reps local office and demonstrated, we pissed of many of the businesses we ended up blocking. Net gain -5.
Oh, and our rep is now on Trump's defense team. That takes balls when he won by a hair last time.
