Youtube videos embedded in DU posts are now giving an error message

Error says "An error occurred. Please try again later" with a Player ID number.

I can play videos fine directly in Youtube. The embedded video playing on DU was working fine too, until this morning.

I am accessing via Chrome on a Chromebook.

Help welcome!

1. I've been having the same problem.

Must be how Youtube connects with DU. If, while the video is trying to load, you click on the icon that sends you directly to Youtube, it works.

3. Several times in past few weeks, have gotten that message. I hit play one more time and got video.

13. I suspect because YouTube and other platforms are being swamped. Need to watch the amount of...

files, uploads, etc. being added to these platforms by users, otherwise they're going to bring these systems down or face severe limits by the platforms themselves to limit the uploading of too much.

14. Finally figured it out....sorta'

I just restored the settings on my Chromebook and now embedded YouTube videos on DU play fine on my Chromebook.

At first, I thought it was a DU problem, but I was able to play embedded DU videos on other PCs and Chromebooks. I was on another site and noticed I also couldn't play embedded YouTube videos on that site with this Chromebook.

That's when I finally figured out restore settings was the way to go. And it worked!
