They happened several times earlier today, but for a few seconds only.

(120,839 posts)on various schedules, and the fact that Beltaine is in two days, and several friends also have birthdays right around mine. Any reason to celebrate works for me.
And I almost firgot, DU'er Capt. America also has a birthday today.

(20,251 posts)Wed dress up and have a fun time at recess and wrap colorful ribbons around a post..probably the tetherball post. Im thinking thats the closest Ive been to celebrating Spring and/or festivities like Beltaine I just looked it up and once again, Ive learned something new, even tho Ive barely touched the subject. So, as with your birthday, I wish you the joy that all the rituals and traditions you celebrate bring you this time of year 🌾

(120,839 posts)if your teachers had known what those Maypole dances represent. . .
Learning about the Wheel of the Year, and what each of the celebrations means is endlessly fascinating. This is one of the many blessings of DU. . .there is always somethi g bew to learn, in almost any field imaginable.

(40,622 posts)We had an outage here or a freeze up that stated it was a 504 Gateway error. I cannot recall ever seeing such a page before. It did eventually clear up and access was restored. It did seem to be only on DU. Our outage was around 3:00 Central, I believe.
Very unusual

(22,645 posts)Currently the diagnosis is "network gremlins" but we're looking into it... I have a ticket open with DU's service provider so we'll see if they can give us any more details.

(20,251 posts)But if we all are getting shut down..hmmmm
Think. Again.
(19,379 posts)...I thought it might be my own internet or device but other sites I tried worked fine.
And a few minutes ago there some short delay in switching threads.
I don't know how long it was before I could connect to DU, but I am pretty sure it was at least 17 minutes.
Sure did.

(1,317 posts)My area doesn't have the best internet. There have been some solar flares, but nothing major, only reaching M1-M3 range (moderate), but usually it affects the shortwave frequencies (30 MHz or below).

(52,379 posts)I thought it was my tablet or my internet connection. I tried to trouble shoot it but with my limited tech know-how I couldn't figure it out. I'm glad it wasn't just me. It was longer than 17 minutes.

(18,319 posts)I've had several time-outs this morning. Each time Cloudflare said it was DU at fault. Thanks for posting this. I've been doing things, so haven't been at the computer the whole time.
I've just read the thread, so on edit: HAPPY BIRTHDAY

(29,096 posts)Back in the day, DU had a panic room for when the site went down or was as attached. Maybe it was a Yahoo chat room? I cant remember. Would have been nice to have that lifeline tonight!
