Related: About this forumNew Feature Request - sticky posts
Issue: There have been many, many cases where there is an event taking place (e.g. speech, convention, etc.) where things are so popular to report on or discuss that we end up with umpteenth OPs. This makes it crazy to try to keep up with all that is being posted, and many interesting thoughts/posts get lost in the mix. Today's prime example is TSFs NABJ appearance.
Request: Is it possible to have a feature that could make something that is a currently occurring item be a sort of sticky OP, in that it stays at the top of latest discussions, and is designated as obviously the one place to go for the current thing. As many of such posts go, it would likely accommodate the link to the event. Whether the admins have to create at each event or a member can do it, I don't know. I am in no position to solution the idea - but hopefully it might be a possible update in the future for DU.
Thanks for considering this suggestion.

(2,818 posts)there would probably have to be some kind of automatic thing that replaces the original with a part 2, part 3, etc, as things went along, with links back to the prior threads - otherwise I'd imagine nightmare load times if trying to harness hundreds of posts all in one thread - but that's just me imagining how it might be.
