Problems with getting my CD player to work.

A couple of months ago I bought a SONY desk top CD player to replace an old one that had seemingly died.

What happened with the old one was that it would only get as far as "Reading" no matter what CD I inserted.

So I bought the new one, and now, only a few months later, it's doing the same thing.

No matter what CD I insert, all I get is "Reading."

I've tried contacting Sony customer service but that's been frustrating beyond belief.

Any thoughts on what's happening and how I might fix it?

And while I'm at it, if I have to get yet another player, any recommendations so this doesn't happen again?

Thanks!

back and forth a couple times using an eyeglass cloth or cotton swab and see if that will get it going again.

That someone else still uses a SONY desk top CD player! I've had mine for over 30 years and it is the best.

P.S. Good luck!

It's only a few months old, so I shouldn't be having these problems.

Glad to hear you're still happy with yours. Hopefully I'll be able to figure out what the problem is.

Best wishes.
