I am new to imgur and posting to DU thus the question. I am not sure what link to post etc.

1. Post the picture, not the page

Get the picture by right-clicking when you are on the imgur page. You need to post the link to JPEG (the image) and not the link to the imgur page.

But really, "Posted the link?" is not a real question, certainly not a usefully formatted question. Think your question through carefully. Better questions get better answers.

Strictly speaking, your question, as you asked it, does have an answer: "Yes, posted link". But that doesn't help you much, does it. If you state a fact and put a question mark after it, then there are only three possible answers: "Yes", "No", "Don't know".

Did you mean "Why did it post the link and not the picture?" ?

Did you mean "How do I post an imgur picture and not just the link to the imgur page?" ? If that's it then my first paragraph tells you.

2. If you add ".jpeg" (leave out the quotes) to the end of your link, it will display in your post.

You'll also need to prepend "i." before the "imgur".

Alternatively, right-click on the picture and copy that link. Or, open the picture in a new tab and copy that tab's URL for your link.

Though I get cut and paste etc I am not getting how to do this properly

6. I am sorry it's not clear. If you want an image to appear in a post it MUST end

with .jpg, .gif., .png, etc.... any image file extension.

There is no 'cut and paste' to get an image to appear on DU.

Let me know what's confusing.
