Gabby Giffords Applauds National Day of Action, Urges House to Hold Vote to Reduce Gun Violence
June 28, 2016 Former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, the Co-Founder of the gun violence prevention organization Americans for Responsible Solutions (ARS), today issued the following statement applauding Members of the House Democratic Caucus for leading a national day of action tomorrow to urge House leadership to hold a vote on reducing gun violence.
Just one week after the historic sit-in on the House floor, tomorrow leaders in Congress will hold yet another historic event to urge our elected officials in the U.S. House of Representatives to hold a vote on bipartisan legislation that protects the rights of law-abiding Americans, keeps guns out of the wrong hands, and saves lives, said Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords. I want to thank Leader Pelosi, Congressman Lewis and Members of the House Democratic Caucus for leading the fight against our nations gun violence crisis. Speaking is difficult for me. But I havent been silenced. And neither should the American people. Their Representatives must vote to make our communities safer.
The national day of action comes on the heels of a historic gun violence sit-in by members of the House of Representatives. In a letter to her former colleagues and members of the House of Representatives that was read on the floor, Congresswoman Giffords urged Congress to pass responsible change that keeps guns out of dangerous hands.

Support Gabby and Mark in their endeavor to bring some sanity to fighting the gun violence crisis in our country. The right-wing gun lobby is launching an all-out effort to conduct damage control to protect their "guns everywhere for everyone" message. More and more Americans are seeing through the smoke and mirrors of using the Second Amendment as a marketing tool, and are speaking up for sane gun regulation.

but I tend to agree that right-wing gun nut supporters are not likely to let a little heat bother their efforts to sell more guns. Cold, dead, hands, and all of that...

A way to prove they do not belong on the terrorist, then withhold their ability to purchase weapons until they are cleared on the list. The same party did not want to provide the Guanatomo prisoners an avenue, where is their thinking.
