U.S. judge denies Texas professors who sought gun ban in their classrooms
I am a retired professor....if guns had been allowed in my classroom, I would have quite teaching there. NO WAY would I put up teaching to gun-totting students.

(42,649 posts)2. And ask the same Judge if guns are allowed in the courtroom.
What do you think the answer would be?
And in the legislature.
I wonder how many professors and students will have to be shot before the state reconsiders.

(6,641 posts)3. The majority of thinking
Americans agree that guns have no place in classrooms, or most other public places where average, normal people congregate. Gun nuts, on the other hand, feel a perverse need to be armed everywhere, all of the time. Sad...

(6,641 posts)5. Texas college students rally against gun law with sex toys
AUSTIN, Texas (AP) Hundreds of University of Texas students waved sex toys at a campus rally during the first day of classes, protesting a new state law that allows concealed handguns in college classrooms, buildings and dorms.
Organizers said the sex toys were used Wednesday to mock what they consider an absurd notion that guns should be allowed in academic settings. The law took effect Aug. 1.
Students and faculty at the Austin campus fiercely opposed allowing license holders to carry their concealed handguns to class. One prominent dean left the school after the law passed in 2015. Several faculty members attended the rally.
Organizers said they distributed more than 4,500 free sex toys.

Just amazing how these students are willing to give up their Second Amendment rights to be a paranoid gun nut.
