Gun control groups spent $276,000 lobbying in the first quarter of 2013.

That's more than Q4 2012, a lot more.

But here's the thing: as a "gun rights" zealot, you can go on and on about Bloomberg and how it's his money the gun control movement is spending -- and be right, of course, because he's brought a bunch of dough to the table for gun control.

But you'd have to ignore the fact that "gun rights" lobbying groups, in that same three months this year, spent $3.8 million lobbying at the federal level.

That's right. Even with Bloomberg, we're spending less than 1/13th what the NRA et al is throwing at their lobbying effort. And we're surprised when we lose?

Hell, we should be amazed we even get close.
