Things are beginning to change.
http://www.campaign2unload.org/This is an interesting group, coming at the gun violence thing another way. They are calling for everyone, individuals and investment firms alike to divest all gun and ammo makers from their portfolios.

This article from the VPC.org website claims that the movement, along with a dip gun sales, has cost the industry $171,000,000 and some manufacturers stocks are falling.

Everytowns Not One More postcard campaign has delivered 2 million postcards to congress, some reports say 2.4 million.

this sounds encouraging. It will be a long haul though. Hope they stay the course.

(14,559 posts)3. Not THEY, WE.
And I for one will.
I own guns, rather a lot of them, and have been background checked by everybody between Eric Holder and the local animal control officer.
There's has to be a sensible way to do the same for anyone else to do the same.
Support a gun control group of your choice.

(32,806 posts)4. I do also
and I agree with we. It will be a long haul with the NRA though. I think the approach of the OP and the links provided is an excellent way to start.
