about the effort to get Kroger to restrict guns in their stores. Call 888.829.3790 and weigh in with your opinion.
I also called Albertsons and asked about their policy. They let each manager deal with the issue. So I asked the obvious question of how does s/he know the intent of someone carrying a loaded assault weapon? Is he one of Wayne Lapierre's good guys or is one one of your cashiers going through a nasty divorce? Was this guy fired yesterday and here to settle things with management? Then I asked the next question; so you expect your employees to confront someone with a loaded gun? Do you give your employees combat pay and body armor just in case? Why will not restrict guns but won't let me shop barefoot?
Then I contacted Sprouts , new store just opened in my neighborhood, and they informed me that their policy was no guns either for their customers or employees.
Now I get to contact both Kroger and Albertsons and inform them that both me and my daughter will take our grocery money to Sprouts because of their gun policy. That's a total of $1600 a month. I'm also informing all my friends of the difference in store policy.

Good show; I just come across these related, maybe readers've seen them:
This first title is misleading, the cashier(ess) didn't freak out, she remained quite calm & collected at all times (I suspect gunnut propaganda); & is a clear example of the problem of customers appearing at a checkout with an open carry pistol at their side - I'd be concerned too.

#2: ~aug2014: Woman Dies Running Away From Man Carrying Gun At Walmart .... a woman died as she was running away from a man who was carrying a "rifle type weapon" in a Beavercreek, Ohio Walmart store. Police were called to the Walmart when they got "reports" (pluaral) that a man was waving a "rifle type weapon" at customers.
The second victim in this event apparently died from some sort of medical collapse. She is identified, 37,.. coroners office says she was running away from the incident when she collapsed. An autopsy will be completed today.. Williams was expected to be married this Saturday. The man, 22 year old John Crawford, was shot and killed by police after Crawford did not obey their commends after they arrived at the store.
Ohio Atty General >> Crawford was shot while carrying (.177 caliber) BB/Pellet Rifle in the store,.. whether the man walked into the store with the weapon or whether the man picked the weapon up off the Walmart shelf and started walking around with it.. remember, if Ohio enacts the NRA's SYG laws, it would not really matter where Crawford picked up the weapon because Stand Your Ground laws would have enabled anyone to shoot and kill Crawford so long as customers feared for their lives in the store where they are lawfully allowed to be.
