Virginia Governor announces package of gun proposals

http://www.timesdispatch.com/news/state-regional/mcauliffe-announces-package-of-gun-proposals/article_9c007c9c-ab01-54fe-b5f1-04bd76d2fb3f.html

McAuliffe’s gun initiatives include proposals to:
* Prohibit the possession of firearms for people subject to protective orders.
* Prohibit the possession of firearms for misdemeanor domestic violence offenders
* Reinstate the one-handgun-a month law
* Revoke concealed handgun permits for parents delinquent on child support payments
* Close the gun show loophole
* Give Virginia State Police authority to process voluntary background check requests

This just makes sense.

From the article:

The Democrat's proposals also include barring the possession of firearms for people who are subject to protective orders and people who have committed certain misdemeanors, such as stalking, sexual battery, and domestic violence.

I like these proposals. As far as the voluntary Back Ground checks, What is wrong with transparency? I seriously would think most gun owners would like that.

I would like mandatory Background checks.

I suspect that the war they laws are currently, the voluntary thing might be the best way forward.
