Colorado Revives Gun Control Debate In State Congress

"Colorado policymakers debated seven bills over gun control this week, with narrow defeats for four proposals in the Democrat-controlled House. Republicans, who won a slim majority in the Senate during last November’s elections, advanced two Senate bills -- one repealing a requirement for background checks for anyone transferring possession of a firearm, and another authorizing concealed carry for anyone authorized to carry a handgun. The measures are expected to fail in the House or be vetoed by the Democratic governor, however. "

All five Republican-sponsored bills debated by the House were defeated, including one that would have repealed a ban on owning high-capacity ammunition magazines. The bills were all aimed at repealing gun control measures that had been instated in 201

In 2013 these laws passed by Democrats resulted in a recall election that cost two sponsors their seats. In the next election those two legislators regained their seats in a snub to the NRA.

Now the Republicans, owned and operated by the NRA, have so far failed to repeal the reasonable laws passed in 2013.

Legislators, you can oppose the NRA and keep your jobs. Take note please.

Second Amendment absolutist "talking point" about how Democrats lose elections by supporting gun control measures. As has been shown, Democratic politicians enable voter apathy by NOT supporting the Democratic platform and values.
