Sponsors speed gun background check bill through contentious Oregon Senate hearing

It was a familiar debate for many legislators and activists who have dealt with the (universal background check) issue as it's been kicked around the Legislature for the past three years.

This time, however, Senate Judiciary Chairman Floyd Prozanski, D-Eugene, made it clear that he has the votes to pass Senate Bill 941 and that it's now on a fast track.


This is the 12th state to require background checks on virtually all guns and an additional 6 require UBCs on pistols.

The only opposing argument is that it will inconvenience law abiding citizens. Really? That's all ya got? Inconfuckingvenience?

55 years of gun nuttery working one little issue at a time. We've only been at it for three years. What's it gonna look like in 52 more years?
