Gun toters rant and rail about Bloomberg's $50 million commitment to gun safety but the real numbers belie the hypocrisy of such bitching and moaning.

With this kind of money being handed out in Washington, D.C. it's small wonder that even slaughtering 20 first-graders couldn't budge Congress to pass something as simple as Universal Background Checks.

If you want to make a difference, support a gun violence group of your choice.

2. even with the most pro-gun interpretation of the constitution possible

there is nothing that says that use of a gun for a crime should not be punished harshly. e.g. stand your ground rules are not covered in the constitution. why are these being forced through legislation in so many states?

I'm starting to think, have the guns you want, but if you fire one and it causes damage - the punishment and liabilities should be immense. No more whoops? the nra should be liable because they are coaching and enabling the gun related destruction.

If your gun is lost/stolen/found by a child and it is used YOU should be charged with any crime committed with it as well as being charged with negligence.
